How do I prepare for my first class?

Please register online before attending class: click here to register

No need to sign up for a specific class, just arrive 20 minutes early to any class on our schedule to acclimate to the studio and purchase your introductory offer- class starts promptly, no latecomers permitted.

Come to class well-hydrated, well-rested and with a mostly empty stomach (no big meals just before class!)

Bring 2 large bath towels, a yoga mat, and at least 1 liter of water. (Also for sale and rent at studio in case you forget.)

Wear light, non-restrictive clothing.

Please no heavy perfumes or oils.

Remember yoga classes begin exactly on scheduled time, doors will be locked. No late entry.

What is the class etiquette?

During Class…

Refrain from talking or whispering, Bikram Yoga is a 90-minute silent, moving meditation.

Do your best to stay in the room. If an emergency requires you to leave, please leave and re-enter between postures.

Make sure you bring enough water to last for the entire class. The teacher will indicate when we take the first break. After that please drink as needed between postures.

You may use a hand towel to wipe your hands or eyes but please refrain from wiping away sweat throughout class. This is your body’s cooling mechanism; it’s best to leave it on your skin.

Practice stillness between postures.

Focus only on yourself in the mirror.

After class…

Observe silence.
Leave the room quietly and carefully.

Additional info

Please note: As with every new exercise regiment, it is always a good idea to consult with your doctor first. If you have an existing health condition we require that you have your physician’s approval before beginning. As a regular Bikram Yoga practice has such profound effects on the body, students often find that they need to lower medication dosages and sometimes discontinue them all together after a period of time. For this reason it is always a good idea to keep your doctor informed of what you are doing.

The full practice of Bikram Yoga is appropriate for children 12 and older; prior to puberty sweat glands are not fully developed and children can overheat more easily.
